“Onwards and Upwards with Discipline and Fun!”, that’s the motto I gave this blog, and the fun part is as important in running an MMG as the discipline. In this short post I will report a bit from my own Mastermind Groups, and some things we do to insert some laughter and smile into the process.
Project of the Month
One member of my international group introduced the idea of nominating a project of the month, and then vote for it. This is a good way of making the experience a bit competitive in a good way, and also to honor effort and results. Whenever somebody reports being at a new project, or having achieved something extraordinary, it can be nominated as project of the month.
The MMG Book of Records
My Frankonian Mastermind Group has now a thread on the Mastermind Board that creates ‘record holders’ of all kinds. Now the term record holder is taken very losely and can be applied to anything that is a bit extraordinary. It’s an opportunity to celebrate successes in a fun way.
Today a new medal (in the form of eight dancing bananas) was issued to a member. There it says
Record holder: [her name]
[her name] receives the eight dancing Chiquitas for extraordinary new achievements in the area of …[details left out for privacy, but you can use your imagination]
And sure enough, the award winner replied with a short acceptance speech, thanking all friends and her parents.
I really had to laugh out loud.
If that sounds silly to you, yes that’s actually the point!
Your turn!
What can you think of in an inspired moment to make your Mastermind Group more fun?
